my poem contribution

i had to write a poem for english class and my family wants me to post it so here it is:

Children crying; saying goodbye,
Sons salute their fathers
Their wives have no tears left to cry,
The future is foreseen.

They step aboard the train of fear,
Death is their conductor
Brave heroes hold their pictures near,
Freedom is behind them.

Through the war torn city they go,
On the brink of terror
Their mental toughness will they show,
Until fatality.

They stand trembling to face their foe,
Still valiant in the battle
They give their lives in time of woe,
Conquering death with honor.

Brothers in arms they march to war,
Strong and willful at heart
Young soldiers now see the horror,
As brothers begin to fall.

Grown men have begun to tear,
Their brothers now are gone
Away from war they must not steer,
“Foreword into battle.”

When war has come and all is done,
No man is left behind
Fallen men’s: boots, helmet, and gun,
All that is left of them.

Brothers visit to feel the grave,
And shed a tear of pain
They will ne’ar forget oh how brave,
Their fallen brothers were.

Children crying, saying goodbye,
Sons salute their fathers
Their wives have no tears left to cry,
Our future is secure.

The author is Josh. I beleive it was titled 'An Evolution of War' He called it a quatrain form of poetry. I told him he should call his Aunt Char for a once over from our master teacher but he didn't so were not sure if it is correct but we thought it ws good. He also has a photo presentation on computer that is very effective

Okay- so mom.... you're the anonymous-- I see how it is!!!

And yeah- I must say I am just a wee bit proud of my little browski! The picture presentation is beyond moving- I seriously was almost brought to tears (better stock up on tissues Aunt Char- if you ever watch it)!!!

Huge slap on the back bro!

Wonderful, Josh! Keep up the good work. Really, I mean it. You should continue honing these skills. Loved reading it. Truly touched my heart.

I was beginning to wonder if anonymous could be Roberto! Did you write all the other anonymouses, Merily?

Thanks for the "author" info!
Now I can say "Great Poem Josh!!!"
I hope it brings you an 'A' :)

Nice to no that Merily is the
Mystery Anonymous blogger...so many identities out there!

Merily, I'm sure the Virginia Martin comment was Dad's hearty approval.

Do you think the usual anonymous is Uncle David?

Josh you and your frend seem maybe a little too close. It's not often that guys tell each other that they love one another! Is your frend a girl perhaps?...let's hope!

Does anyone know who Josh's "frend" is? It is not James. I thought it was Luke.

Josh's friend is Maria. But, now who is anonymous? Alright people...enough playing games on this site. I don't like it!! I never knew the Martins to be shady. We're all such up front people! Almost to a fault!

BTW Josh...your poem is awesome! Once you get the whole music thing figured out you should place it somewhere on the internet and provide the link to the site so everyone can view it.

Josh's friend has to be an adult- no youngster or hip person would write that kind of stuff!!! Hmmm! And the Martin detective (AKA 7-sars-a-swimming) keeps on diggin!!! One of these days... you will be found out... whoever you are!!!

Josh's friend is probably USD.

At October 11, 2005 10:47 AM, Blogger Aunt Char said...

Really, Maria is not the "frend." Does USD have time to do this?

At October 11, 2005 1:10 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh yes he does... USD pretends to be the ever-conscientious Viracon employee. However- when I would slave away hour after hour in the dungeon of the big V-- until my hands were nothing but a big blister--- I could see USD up in his office- feet kicked up on the desk- drinking his life-line (coffee) laughin and muckin it up with the big-whigs! What a slacker!!!

~USD- you can only aspire to be such a dedicated employee as I:-) hahahaha!!!

Hey Char, How do you know Josh's frend is not Maria? Luke thinks it's Maria because some of the dialogue had to do with some inside stuff that happened at the cabin.

Did anyone think the "friend??" may be James? USD has the right sense of humor to pull it off also.

At October 11, 2005 4:44 PM, Blogger Aunt Char said...

That is exactly why Maria thought the "frend" was Luke! He seems to know stuff from the cabin. But some comments are posted while Maria is totally away from the computer. Now I'm thinking Elizabeth? Or maybe Jay? Or could Jay be "anonymous"?

USD, I am appalled! This is not the mental picture I had of you at work! Rebeka has opened my eyes. It's so hard to believe, because you have been such an inspiration to me!

Hmmm - Rick. Now there's a thought. I'll check into this.

At October 11, 2005 4:46 PM, Blogger Aunt Char said...

No, James is away from computers when some comments come up also. WHOEVER YOU ARE, DEAR ANONYMOUS!

At October 11, 2005 7:04 PM, Blogger The Peedster/Bittles said...

Ok well Im ready to start pointing fingers! Either Aunt Char is covering up for her entire family(or it is herself!!) or Sara is Josh's frend... since she is so intrested in finding out who it is!
Although Josh's frend has been on a lot lately so they must have quite the free time hmm....!
Come come, confess- the joke is getting old.

At October 11, 2005 9:17 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Could Josh's frend be Josh himself?Maybe he has an imaginary friend!!!OK Josh fess up now!!!!

At October 12, 2005 9:53 AM, Blogger Aunt Char said...

No really, any spelling mistakes I make have to be accidental, as I could not in good conscience misspell like that! Fortunately, I make enough honest mistakes that my humility remains intact! ;-) So I assure you I could not, and am not, Josh's "frend." And I would be overcome with guilt about covering up, so it's no one in my family either.

Quite the mystery!

Hey maybe Josh's friend is Jessica! She was at the cabin too! Jess are you the little sneak out there?

Whoever "Joshes frend" is, they are hysterical! How about Melanie...she is a funny girl and
so innocent out there in Montana...just a thought~

At October 25, 2005 8:59 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think Joshes frend is James!

At October 26, 2005 8:25 AM, Blogger Aunt Char said...

Impossible to be James as he's at school (with no access) when the comments come up. Really, and I've talked to Melandrick, and they are not responsible either. We know it's a guy and not a Jerry (unless he's lying), so I'm thinking USD. Maria thinks so too. Defend yourself USD, or we will know for sure!

At October 27, 2005 7:16 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey maybe it's just Josh himself writing about his make-believe frend. What do ya think about that?

I am indebted forever for your forgiveness. You didn't even need to give a big explanation, USD, all I needed was your word. And I am deeply hurt that you cannot take my word that it is not James or Maria. In fact, the scars are deep and painful, but you as well are forgiven, and welcome in my home anytime. You also have my eternal thanks for coming for the wedding - a hero for all time for that in the whole Jimnchar family. But really, as truly creative and intelligent as James and Maria are (oops, better register for that humility class), they are not Josh's "frend." And I'll mention something else: I'm a little annoyed by the destroying kids' sand castles comments and by the repeated references to sleepovers.

I can't even believe you really did ring me up at the Met-Pro desk! Yes! I can honestly say I have turned over a new leaf as far as the working world goes! I have become quite the devoted worker!!! Taking on daunting tasks that aren't even my duties to do! Perhaps I was once inspired by a hard-working Viricon Engineer!!! Hats off to you USD!
