Antelope Hunting

We had beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day.
This was the sunrise the morning I shot my antelope.
We are a group of cousins (firsts, seconds, thirds, fourths...) who at our great-grandmothers funeral decided to stay in touch despite the hurdles of distance and lifes business! Through the example of our Great Grandparents, Grandparents and Parents we have learned the importance of family. So may the lines and (typed) keys of communication remain busy! I love you guys!!!

I'm glad you like the pics Jeff. We had such a good time. My past two antelope have tasted really good. Melanie loves antelope meat. We are hoping these will be just as good. Melanie didn't get to field dress her antelope because she was making the two mile trek back to the truck. And I'm sure...when she gets the chance...she will tell you all about it. She did help me field dress mine. She did really good. I'm proud of her. Let me know if you want to come out and take a hunt someday!
Congratulations! That-a-girl! One thing for sure, Mell didn't get her hunting skills from me. Thanks for filling in the blanks for me, Rick.
We hope you both do as well Elk hunting this week!
We've been away at a choral festival at Pills. It was great. We brought 5 high school kids from church. It really was a tremendous opportunity for all the kids.
We return home in time to vote. Hey everyone, make sure you let your voice be heard at the voting booth Tuesday.
Awesome pictures!!! Sounds like you two had a lot of fun! AND... I did NOT want to be filled in with the details... but Mel thought it was in my best interest to know all of the "good stuff"! I'm SO GLAD I wasn't there!
I do like the taste of antelope- You'll have to save a piece for when I come out to visit!!
Rick, what a gentleman! Giving the girl the first shot - you are so great! So then the Lord rewarded you and gave you your own shot - and what a great one. Let's be thankful Melanie got the pick-up going to pick up the goods. I hope it won't be too long before she can get on with THAT part of the story!
Actually, I'm Mom.
I'm sorry Melanie hasn't been able to get on to tell her story yet. She really wants to. Hopefully we will have a successful elk hunting story to tell as well. We didn't get our elk last week, but we had a great time. We are going to go elk hunting again this Monday-Wednesday. Last week we saw an owl and a rattlesnake! It was surprising to see a rattlesnake out at this time of year. We'll let you know how hunting goes this week.
Will Melanie ever tell her story?
Meanwhile, I want to express appreciation for the wonderful weather in MN while we were there! I'll admit it was a little bit of a shock on Wednesday, having started out from PA in the 70s, and arriving in MN to frigid 27. But by Saturday we were biking through Shetek State Park with not even jackets! It was wonderful, and Sunday was even lovelier. We hear you've quite the ups and down this past week! We're glad the snow waited until we were gone, but it might be fun to see some snow pictures.
Melanie will have to write down her story so I can publish it to the blog for her. We had another fun weekend hunting! Melanie shot her first deer! That was pretty exciting! She is quite the shot! We have one more weekend of hunting left before the season is over.
