Meet Mrs. Kennedy (to be)

Joe finally made it out to PHILLY on Friday night after two cancelled flights and an almost flight change to Newark, NJ due to bad weather!
On Saturday we spent the day in New York City where he treated me to an amazing broadway show, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST! It was Incredible!!! (SIDE NOTE: Donnie Osmond played Geston... he was SO GOOD)!!
Then we went out for a phenominal fillet~mignon dinner and OF COURSE had to go to Time Square to take in the sights...

Little did I know that Joe had much more in store than sight-seeing... :-)

In the middle of all the chaos, noise, people and traffic I found myself IN TOTAL SHOCK that the man of my dreams, Joe Kennedy, was down on one knee asking me to marry him... and seriously... I was so shocked that the first thing I could say was, "What are you doing???"

BUT I ASSURE YOU I DID SAY...

YES!!!!!!!!!!!

So here we are, my fiance and I, in the middle of Time Square... and we couldn't be happier.

I love you Joe... and I can't wait to be Mrs. Kennedy!!!!

Thanks everyone! I seriously couldn't be happier! It's so hard to sit here and behave at the Met-Pro desk when all I want to do is jump around and YELL at the top of my lungs that I get to marry the most AMAZING MAN EVER POSSIBLE!!!

If you could all take a little walk down blogger-lane with me to a post from September 2005... I wrote, "I'm holding out for a God-thing, b/c FOR REAL!!! I have no clue who I want, who I need, who I would be good for or who would be good for me;-)! Better left in God's hands!" There is NO DOUBT in my mind that God had Joe for me from the beginning! He is more than I ever thought possible and I love him so much! I am so EXCITED to spend the rest of my life loving him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!! I've never met Joe and hardly know Rebeka, but I can honestly say that I am very happy for you two!

As many will tell you, you are heading towards one of the best days of your lives that will carry you through to the best years of your lives.

I'd like to pass on a little illustration someone told me once. Think of your relationship as a pyramid. Joe is at the base on one side, Rebeka is at the base on the opposite side, and God is at the peak. As you climb the pyramid, drawing closer to God, as individuals, He will draw you closer as a couple.

God bless you both!

Joel

Rebeka - how could you leave him waiting for that response?? Glad you didn't give up, Joe! And we in PA are not a bit worried about the large body of water thing.

Joel, that is a beautiful illustration - thanks so much!

Uncle Steve, you are hilarious - and we are counting on you guys to prevent spinsterhood for Maria - your biggest challenge so far, I'm sure, but you have not failed us yet!

If one comment is good then repeating a comment three times is pure bliss. Joe, the Jim Martin clan is loud and proud. The Jerrys are, if not louder, definitely more proud(their egos are through the roof), so watch out, they are one self righteous bunch. The Jims are on the other hand willing to admit when we're wrong... that is when and IF we ever are.

cognito Jim... that was hysterical!!! PROPS to you!

Congratulations guys! R, I knew things were looking good when you said that Joe was from Michigan. I mean really, what isn't good in Michigan? Anyway, Flint isn't that far from "da Soo" so don't be a troll that lives below the bridge and never ventures to the beautiful upper peninsula. I wish you both the best and let me know if you guys are ever coming UP to my neck of da woods, eh!?

Jeff, thank you for your heart-felt congratulations! Yours was long in coming and I waited with such anticipation knowing that it would be oozing with all sorts of kindnesses:-)!

And Jeff-E!!! You know I'll have to make a trek up North! (just NOT during the winter months)!!! I'm all about riding sea-doos(sp?) with you some time!!!

AND YES! I'm so excited that it worked out to get married up North! It's my MOST favorite place in the WORLD!!! I can't wait to be surrounded by my family and close friends-- and marry the most INCREDIBLE guy EVER;-)! Life just doesn't get better than this!!!!!

Seriously! thank you all for your kind words! I love you all so much!!!

Well Jeffrey! I can think of one place I'd hate to claim if I were a Michigan fan (at which I am), especially the U.P.!!!! Maybe we could sell off Detroit to the Canuks? That place is definitely an eye-sore eh!?
'R' will you be wearing a snowmobile suit at the wedding?, being as we could still have snow on the ground up north in May!

At October 13, 2006 8:11 PM, Blogger Aunt Char said...

Considering R will be living in the Detroit area, let's not sell it just yet!

Maybe we should all get some glamour-long-johns for the big event on the north shore.

At October 16, 2006 5:33 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

long-johns for sure! And I figured I'd pack along the infamous brown sweater. It's served me well over the years and may come in quite handy up there! AND-- what better way to complete my elegant wedding dress than draping it with "old faithful"!

At October 16, 2006 5:35 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

What about the saying of something "old", (brown sweater)
something "new", (long underwear)
something "borrowed", (boots for
mud)
something "blue", (earmuffs)

Now let's celebrate!!!

PERFECT!!! I get such handy tips on the Martin Blog!!!

I'll be elegantly regal in all that garb!!!

Hey! I will have no part of Detroit bashing. There have been 3 great things that have come from Detroit. The Red Wings, Pistons and Tigers! We won't talk about the Lions. :-(

R, in order to become a true troll you have to come to the U.P. during winter and ride snowmobiles. I think that is part of troll initiation. If you should dare to come up this-a-way let me know because I have some connections and I could get you over to Mackinaw Island for pretty much free. Its a place you have to see at least once, but probably not during the winter.

Another cool thing about living in Michigan (among many)is when people ask you where you live you can point to a spot on your hand and say "right about there." I mean, what other state can you use your hand as a map of the state? If you're going to live in Michigan you better start practicing

Hey, u/c_bro5-0, you're making us all wish we could come to Michigan! And we'll be cheering for the Tigers, too.
