Martin Clan
We are a group of cousins (firsts, seconds, thirds, fourths...) who at our great-grandmothers funeral decided to stay in touch despite the hurdles of distance and lifes business! Through the example of our Great Grandparents, Grandparents and Parents we have learned the importance of family. So may the lines and (typed) keys of communication remain busy! I love you guys!!!

How nice! We were taking pictures yesterday to throw up on the blog. Hopefully James will get them up there before his flight out to MN. We had a lot of fun yesterday. Unfortunately, I am sick in bed with a bad cold. What a way to bring in the New Year!!
I hope this new year will bring lots of happy bloggers to the site!!
Thanks to all the Jeffs for the new year wishes! Hope to get some party pictures up later. So sorry Sars has that bad cold! Drink lots and stay warm and we'll be praying for you.
Yes, indeed, Jim and James are flying to MN on Saturday. Jim will come home Tuesday, and James in May. James will be back to Pills. in Owatonna - so stop and see him! I know he hopes to get to the "metropolitan" area to see all the fam. I'm hoping he'll have his head soon buried in books and music and not have time to blog MUCH!
Welcome back to Minnesota James!
I hope we will see you sometime during this semester!! You know we are only minutes from your Grandparents!!
Martin Christmas was small in number but large in spirit! It was a wonderful day, GREAT food, a warm and cozy atmosphere(yes, even in the plbc basement)and a challenge from God's word, the singing of Christmas Carols and a pretty hilarious white elephant gift exchange! Thanks to Uncle Jim and Aunt VIrginia and their gang for such a nice Christmas Day!
Listen...we did partake in a few libations over the New Year...all of which were alcohol free!
A little sparkling cider never hurt anyone!
BTW...I changed my cell number. It's now 267-566-8135 (for those who care)!!
You've piqued my curiosity about white elephants! I believe further explanation is needed - may have to ask J&V when they arrive at our home, unless anyone wants to offer some explanations.
Now Ryan, you've touched on a sensitive subject. While it is true that in my long-ago-past, I did develop a temporary dependence on Ny-Quill, I have long since ceased to use it for other than the time prescribed to recover from a cold. I did not even realize my cold was over until Jim suggested that it had been over for quite some time, and that perhaps its high alcoholic content was no longer needed. But I really did stop completely, although gradually. No longer a problem!!
Will someone PLEASE not let my comments always be the last?? Please comment, someone, and then I will keep my mouth shut.
I'M HERE FOR YOU CHAR! BUT PLEASE...DON'T KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT, IT IS HIGHLY ENTERTAINING!

OK, I'm getting filled in on the white elephants, and I am so sorry to have missed it. Yes, Uncle Grant - do model your progress! I did not ask Dad Martin to model his gift; Joel's suggestion that not all gifts need to be modeled on the blog is a good one.
