Skiing at Bridger Bowl

Here are a few pictures from skiing at Bridger Bowl.

Some of the terrain we skied at Bridger Bowl.

Here's Melanie rippin' up the slopes! She is improving SO much! She is really having a blast. She did say that she has never been as sore as she was after two days of skiing!

Melanie and I from the top of Bridger Bowl. We had such a great time skiing! We can't wait to go again!
I know...this isn't a skiing picture, but I thought I would throw it in here anyway. This is our December 31st ride. It was about 45 degrees when we went on this ride. It was beautiful! It came down to the last day of the year but we were able to ride every month in 2005!

Looks like so much fun! And how beautiful are those slopes. Thanks for posting. Melanie should tell her ski story, too!

Maria and I are back from NY state. I nearly drove (no pun intended) her crazy. I get so full of panic on bridges and curves and steep hills, which NY is FULL OF! But we made it and had so much fun with my nephews, parents, sister and brother-in-law! It was worth the driving agony. Praise the Lord for clear and dry roads.

The cord for Melanie's computer is broken, so she is unable to get on line. HOWEVER, I did read her the first uj comment, and needless to say, she is thrilled to be the subject of the Jerrys' faithful abuse and sarcasm!

She wants to assure you that the slopes are nearly empty because she and Rick ski mid-week, and really, there are a few less people in the west to begin with.

I don't recall "cushy" seats at BL. I'm wondering if uj and jp have an extra layer of their own cushiness.

I would love to learn more about semi-colons - please share! I have been studying them with Maria and we would appreciate more information about this intriguing and wonderful literary tool; it would help her in her upcoming English comp. course, I'm sure.

UJ...that was great! I'm sure others with like-minded humour will be sure to charm in with agreement!
I'm always good for a Jr. High-ish joke session!! And, I beleive my Aunt Jill is too! You don't want to get the two of us started!

I love it! Do go on, Ryan - punctuation of all kinds is certainly one of my favorite subjects!

So do we agree that Ryan's writing interest comes from Jeff? Or is Laura also proficient in this area? And maybe grandparents' genes are also contributing?

the blog is now becoming snoreville! Do we really care about punctuation, commas, semi-colons and all that other stuff that gives me a headache! OUCH!

Jill, there are many of us who care very much about these things - just consider Laura and UJ's very serious questions on the subject.

Hey aunt jill...although it is hard to see, I AM downhill skiing. True, I am moving pretty much at a level, but that's because I am afraid of speed, so just transverse the mountain, turn and transverse again! these days as I'm slowly getting better, I point my feet slightly more DOWN hill!

Well uncle jeff, I do not appreciate the sarcasm in your statements. Now, I will try to move beyond that and explain that we ski midweek, so it's not nearly as crowded as on weekends. And yes, we did ski with a few friends, but our time in the lodge was spent discussing the ins and outs of molecular science.

Joel, to think I used to think you were a nice guy. clearly big brother jeff has much influence on your impressionable mind

and now the ski story. Jeff, I would suggest you not read this, so as to save myself from the "side splitting story" jokes later.
A guy I work with (he's really annoying actually) said he worked at REI before and had gotten these skis and he wore them only twice, and then got new boots which didn't fit in these bindings, so just went a bought new skis. He said I could have his old ones. I told Rick about it and he didn't even want to pick them up because the skis that people GIVE AWAY are usually fit for the dump, but I thought any skis would be better than nothing. SO...we go pick these puppies up, and Rick's like, "are these stolen?" Apparently it's about a twelve hundred dollar set up new! And then the next week, this same guy (annoying one) found me an add in the paper for another set of Scream Pilots with bindings for $180, so we got them for Rick! apparently her friend works for soloman and got her these which were too long for her, and she just wanted to get rid of them!

Good job, Melanie! Wonderful about the skis, and how great that the subject of molecular science could be discussed! That's a close second to semi-colons in my opinion.

Oh uncle jeff, your puny little mind. Dear, dear uncle jeff. If you know what a dictionary is (maybe laura can help) you should really look up the word, "molecular." You will find that although it has the letters m o l e in it, it does not have anything to do with brown bumpy things on your body. So much you have to learn

I wonder what UJ thought the Wharton School was about.

Be careful, Melanie, you may have unleashed more than you hoped for with that puny mind remark!

It is not a good sign that UJ is taking so long to respond. Please be kind.
